About Stick Insects

Stick insects are my absolute favourite insects. They come in many shapes and formes. They are mostly green or brown, sometimes with beautiful colour patterns. Some have pins or spikes on their body, others have extra long leggs or antennae. And they make excellent pets ! There are so many excellent websites on the net, I am sure you will find one where you can find all the information you need to start you own collection of stick insects. You only need an old aquarium or a cage, and some food to feed them. Most stick insects like ivy, bramble, oak, rose plants. Beginners insects is the laboratory stick insect, or carausius morosus. They are robust and nice sticks to start with. If you are sure that you will continue this hobby, you can look out for other species to raise. Other easy sticks are Aretaon Asperrimus, Medauroidea Extradentata, and the entire Baculum family. You can take a look at my favourites, they are discribed on the next pages. Good luck !! ^_^
